Randomly stopped here after visiting the Arch. It was a pleasant surprise. Delicious food and friendly service.
This is a very good sandwich shop in downtown St. Louis. I visit here frequently and have never had a bad experience and the prices are fair.
Took advice of a employee at the Arch to go for lunch at Pickles. Food was fabulous and plentiful. Had the sausage and lentil soup was excellent, with a Italian sub. Now I know when the cashier asked if I wanted to share!!! It was hugh. So was the turkey club. EXCELLENT!!! Lunch????
I loved this place so much I ate all six meals they were open for during my visit to St. Louis. Every breakfast I had the breakfast pita wrap with ham. This was delicious and filling. The pita was fluffy and the ham just salty enough that no additional seasoning was needed. The Mediterranean chicken wrap, veggie wrap, and gyro used the same pita. All the were good as well with the chicken wrap the most satisfying. Sadly, they're closed on Sundays so I couldn't go back once more. If I'm in downtown St. Louis again, I am definitely going back to try their Rubens.
While many of their customers, like myself, were there for the convention, they had regulars whose orders they knew by heart. All of the staff was bright and friendly, even when they were getting slammed with orders.
Pickles is another sandwich shop. You can order from a menu or create your own sandwhich. Service is relatively quick. Prices are a little high considering quality of the food. Their meatball sub is a 4/5. Nothing is extraordinary but the place is clean and the food is not bad.
