Burgers are delicious! But the pricing for the fries and shakes don't match the quality. If you're wanting fries and shake don't bother with this over priced place. Go to sonic or something.
This is a nice one time visit but I wouldn't bother coming back.
I've never tried something on their menu I did not enjoy. Chicken bites are delish, burgers are juicy, fries are hot, fresh & crisp, shakes are thick and creamy. Great place to come for a casual date or with a group of friends. Service is average for a fast food joint, nothing outstanding but the place usually seems to be clean.
If you have had shake shack, this is nothing different except for maybe the atmosphere and the great Central West End concrete (which I highly recommend).
If you haven't been to shake shack before, this is a relatively casual burger joint with a spacious room inside for seating and a nice patio outside. To note, it is relatively expensive however the food is pretty good, though I do take a star off because I think there are better burger joints for cheaper. However, I do think there are a few items here worth getting.
First would be the shack stack (which costs around $10.95, a hefty price) which has an amazing cheese-stuffed portabello mushroom on a pretty good burger patty (nothing special, but a solid, flavorful patty). With the mushroom, the burger is pretty big but the patties themselves are honestly pretty small (a bit smaller than those at Five Guys for comparison). Honestly, this burger is the only reason why I come to Shake Shack instead of Five Guys. Would recommend.
The other item I would recommend is the Central West End concrete which is a vanilla custard with caramel sauce and something called gooey butter cake (which is essentially butter cake with a layer/icing of cream cheese on top). The custard by itself is pretty solid with a nice, smooth texture and strong hints of vanilla bean. It actually goes pretty well with the caramel sauce and gooey butter cake as each flavor complements each other, rather than overpowering (the butter cake itself was great as it wasn't too rich and the cream cheese icing/layer was mellow/not overpowering), but it definitely is overall on the sweeter side. Unfortunately, it is somewhat expensive at ~$6 for a single serving (which is pretty big though to be honest) but I would recommend if you have never tried before.
Overall would recommend if you are willing to spend up to $20 for one meal for a pretty good burger/concrete.
I went here with my family on a vacay and they just loved it. It is like a nicer/better/healthier steak and shake. They had a place where you could put your dog and let him or her drink water. The strawberry mint lemonade was my favorite.
The food was pretty good. We got the mushroom burger and it was really nice. The shakes were fine. Honestly probably wouldn't drive all the way back unless we were already in the area. Overall okay burgers with good fries and standard shakes.
