Star Bar Grill

It was... ok. I've definitely had better BBQ before, and I've definitely paid less for it. Being a local who lives practically next door, I've driven by hundreds of times and we finally decided to treat ourselves, got the $20 platter with pulled pork, ribs, and brisket with 2 sides, got mac and cheese for both. The ribs were kinda small and dry, pretty good though. Pulled pork was actually on point, I don't really like pork but was loving this with some sauce. The brisket was extremely fatty and didn't have all that much flavor to be honest. The "adult: mac and cheese was.... weird. The closest I can say is it tastes like pasta salad with cheese put into it... it has a certain seasoning to it that just doesn't fit. It's good, but it's not what you'll be wanting or expecting as "mac and cheese" with that odd, tangy flavor. It also kinda looked like leftovers with a few pieces of dried-out pasta. Honestly the mac and cheese was so sketchy that it got me thinking about episodes of Kitchen Nightmares. The service was outstanding, extremely friendly and accommodating, but there's just no way I would pay $20 for this food again. I don't regret trying it... just won't be having it again. Definition of middle of the road.

Been here 4 mornings and this was the best breakfast by far! Homemade cream gravy (not at all heavy on the black pepper) and best coffee (per hubby as he likes his strong). Friendly and attentive wait staff. Clean too. Had appetizers and adult beverages on breakfast menu (a plus in my book!). Owner was friendly and told us the history of his business. Smoker smelled great and look for to returning for some BBQ!

This place serves great breakfast. Want good coffee? Order here. It comes fresh ground out of a standard stainless steel restaurant coffee maker and it is fantastic.

We stayed nearby and enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinners there. Wide open architecture can hand just one man eating breakfast that morning and 16 members of his family later that night.

Food is super solid south Missouri American fare.

Great place. Food was okay but the customer service made this review 5 stars! The bartender (I think her name was Denise) was awesome. She was so sweet! Another guy at the bar and I were both having bad days and she knew just what to say to cheer us up. Some people enjoy what they do and go above and beyond when they're at work and she is one of them. I will be back regularly to Star Bar. Maybe just for drinks but I'm a loyal customer thanks to this wonderful woman.
