Shug's Comfort Food

Everything they touch makes my heart happy. I've been a regular since they opened and my favorite item is the smothered pork chop. They use smoked turkey for their greens and green beans so people who don't like pork aren't excluded.

Purchased the 8 piece chicken, potatoes, and green beans for my office staff today and everyone LOVED it! Everything was so flavorful and just delicious. Highly recommend you give this place a try.

As a Southern girl I typically don't like up north food, but I decided to give it a chance. My family and I drove 30 minutes just to get us some of this comfort food. We did have to wait to get some food due to them having a party. While we were waiting on our food the waitress was super nice and she asked us if there was anything that we needed. We ordered our food to go and I'm so happy we had a chance to try them out. The chicken was good and the macaroni and cheese was bomb. I definitely want to go again to get a chance to try some banana pudding since they was out. I don't mind making the drive. Way better than any other southern food I've tried in Nebraska.

I called and set up a decent sized takeout order for 3 people on a busy night., but they were very courteous and took their time getting the order setup to pickup a few hours later. It was ready to go on time and was still hot and fresh. So A+ for customer service!

The food itself is delicious! I ordered the Jacko Fried Catfish combo and everything was delectable, nothing overcooked or over seasoned. I was definitely a fan of the green beans and mashed potatoes as sides. Another A+ for the food!

Overall, I had a great experience and I will absolutely be coming back for more in the future.

The food is Delicious! Nothing like home cooked soul food in a comfortable spot to talk, listen to good music and eat. I had the Fried pork chop, Greens, Mac and Cheese, Cornbread and Peach Cobbler.
