Light, crispy and delicious. Not since Chicken Delight have I had fried chicken that made the chicken better. Every other "fried chicken" (Popeyes, KFC, whoever) is about this heavy crust. Golden Bird is about a coating that compliments the chicken. The service is truly customer focused. I will be going back!
My reviews going to start with the question first how in the world did you ever give this place below five stars. This is the best chicken I've had in all the Vegas and I'm a native that's saying something. The best chicken ever to the side items I don't see how you can't love this place oh and there's lunch menu comes with a dessert I got a peach cobbler I didn't even know I was going to get I love you guys.
3.5 Stars, rounded up to 4 stars.
Average, nothing wrong with that but just average. I love chicken so I was glad to see a new chicken place on the east side of town. I read about Golden Bird Chicken in the Las Vegas Weekly so I had kinda high expectations. I would love to have a local place to go to for fried chicken but guess Popeyes is still my place for chicken.
The first time I went I ordered a 3 piece dark and was told they only had drumsticks. I would have waited 20 minutes or so to get fresh chicken but wasn't given that choice. It was still just over an hour before closing so I left disappointed.
I returned another day to try it. I got the 3 piece dark with mac and cheese, a side of baked beans, and sweet potato pie. The chicken was crunchy but the flavor was nothing special. The same could be said of everything else. Not bad, not good, just average.
I may someday try the fish and/or shrimp but it's not high on my list.
Glad to see the Los Angeles based franchise expand into Las Vegas. They have a quality product with their secret recipe fried chicken. But will need to improve on the intangibles such as providing napkins with orders, hot sauce, and balancing price with portion size for their side orders.
They chicken is amazing. I prefer dark meat because it is juicy. The white meat can get dry but the crust makes it tasty. They have only been open a short while so I know they will figure it out.
