My friend introduced me to Dutch Pot and I couldn’t wait to try this menu. It didn’t disappoint.
I knew we are in the right place by the delicious smells wafting through the air pointing me to the front door.
The menu offers a wide variety of Jamaican delights. I had curry chicken, mac and cheese and plantains. The chicken fell off the bone and the curry was tasty and perfectly spiced. The mack and cheese was creamy which was the perfect contrast I needed to offset the curry. The plantains were silky smooth and delicious that left me wanting them again in the verrrrry near future.
The service was great. Our waiter checked in us enough but not too much. We didn’t want tor anything.
If you’re not familiar with Jamaican food, don’t be afraid to try Dutch Pot. It’s flavorful, filling and the answer to those comfort food cravings.
Thank you for the wonderful food and service, Dutch Pot! Can’t wait to come back and try more of your menu.
I'm from the Caribbean so I had high expectations when I tried this place for lunch. Overall, I loved the rice and peas, but was disappointed by the Jamaican patties - the dough wasn't the traditional yellow color/made with curry powder, and seemed to be made with some other type of flaky pastry dough. The macaroni was pretty good. The plantains weren't very sweet/a little dry. My friend got curry chicken and said the flavor was good but she didn't like that the chicken was still on the bone. My other friend got brown stew chicken which she enjoyed. I do like that this place has an extensive menu and plenty of vegetarian options. It didn't 💯 remind me of home, but still 4/5, and would try it again. I believe it's definitely a place worth checking out.
Kayla is the best waitress. She's a foodie and knows her menu. I bring and pickup food often for my clients that want great oxtails. Everyone I took there or delivered to loved the oxtails. There is a vegan menu also. The food is healthy and clean. The store is clean. The energy is great and most the staff is very friendly. The cold slaw is fresh. I am EXTREMELY PICKY. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted by a talk dark n handsome 🤩😍🤭 very nice young man. This man was very busy yet looked me in the eyes greeted me and assured me we would be pleased. We has oxtails rice plantain mixed hot greens w peppers and Mac and cheese. There were no leftovers. That was my 5th visit and I drove from the Stratosphere on the strip. GO THERE!!!!
My family is from the Caribbean and I had high expectations of Dutch Pot. Sadly, I left disappointed. The food is seasoned, but the jerk chicken and oxtail portions are too SMALL and didn't taste fresh. Furthermore, the oxtails barely had any meat. They were too fatty and smothered in a SWEET brown sauce. Usually oxtails are cooked in a savory sauce with white beans. The jerk chicken resembled stewed chicken vs. true jerk chicken that is grilled. My plantains were greasy and peas and rice were just average. On a positive note, the atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is clean.
This restaurant hosts a beautifully warm and comforting vibe. Every aspect of service is well thought out from social outreach to art, decor, music, menu, food, hospitality and staff to the dining experience itself. The food is the best of it's genre, in town - so much as I have experienced. I am pleased to have discovered this place as I can sense the Owner's commitment to comprehensive reliable quality service and delicious food. Highly recommend.
