Restaurant El Rey

Fantastic little place in an odd strip mall. I went because someone told me they had amazing tortillas and they are indeed top notch. The burrito was big and meaty and flavorful without being overly spicy. Other reviews complained about the service, but it was fine and everyone was very nice.
Edit: I have been back several times and this has become one of my favorite Mexican places in town.

My first meal in Vegas for a very hyped up Yardbird. I was expecting big things and I think it delivered in the end. We split a ton of dishes between 4 people. We had many "variations" of the fried chicken in the form of the chicken wings, fried chicken, and the spiced watermelon/waffle/ and chicken dish. There isn't a huge variation in terms of the taste of the chicken between the entrees, especially between the wings and the fried chicken. It's kind of the same. What is really unique are the sauces that it comes with including a boozy maple syrup and some of their house hot sauces.

Grits - if you like grits, these are next level. Fluffy scoops with cheese on top. Delicious

Street corn - good but not favorite dish there. Lacks a crema sauce or needs more of it

Hush puppies - a must order.

Deviled eggs - with a twist of trout roe on top. Slightly salty and very good

Mashed potatoes. - fluffy. Exceptional

Solid Mexican see. Al pastor has good flavor. The chips for the nachos were freshly fried. Generous portion of toppings. The green sauce on my burrito very good. Only minus is a little slow. Most likely because they are freshly making all your food

cutest decor, had the fish tacos and they were AMAAAAAZING, crispy fish, fresh tacos, everything was awesome! Service was great, the staff checked on us multiple times. Will be back here when I go back to Vegas.
