Some of the best soul food in Vegas. Worth trying if you haven't already. You might get lucky and see someone famous. I was able to meet a famous retired NFL wide receiver the last visit
We had just arrived in Las Vegas and wanted to try some local ethnic cuisine and it was of course Sunday. So the idea of "Soul Food" came to mind. In researching Google Soul Food Cafe was our choice. After a 25 minute taxi ride we arrive at a quaint restaurant located in a strip center. We were greeted by a lively very nice waitress and we were simply bubbling with anticipation of what was yet to come. Unknowingly, this would be the highlight of our endeavor. We ordered the Ox Tails with the standard sides of collard greens, mac and cheese and rice. OMG, we received a plate full of oil draped with gravy and topped with somewhat under-cooked oxtails! The saving grace was the accompanying hot water cornbread. I wish I had simply ate the cornbread, it was the best I have ever had in my life. All that being said I can only give this establishment an average rating and this mostly due to the waitress an the cornbread!
