Umami Restaurant

I love this sushi place the quality is great. The service has always been great. Today the service was not so good. I waited 10 minutes for my ice cream and the waitress never brought it. So thats why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

Unfortunately on New Year's Day at least, Umami didn't stand up to the hype. It took a while to get seated (not an issue when busy) but then another long wait to even find out who our server was, get water and start an order. The table wasn't really ready for us with nearly empty soy sauce containers and not enough settings.
On a positive note, once we made our orders for sushi, they came much quicker than expected and at least the nigiri was delicious. Specialty rolls took longer and came out haphazardly regardless of the order given. I will say that our server was very personable, gave my daughter a free ice cream and they give a good First Responders/Military discount. With so many other options in Vegas, they're gonna need to up their game.

We love Umami! Second time there..amazing customer service from the beginning to the end. Marlon was super friendly and cordial, was a long day for me and he was very nice, even that we were the last ones eating he was so patient. Thank you so much Marlon!

Our server was David, he started off this excellent experience. Amazing customer service from the beginning to the end of our time there.

The automatically being you out cold bottled water which is very nice. We partook in the AYCE for the 7 of us and as soon as we ordered, within minutes our food was there. Very quick turnaround time.

We sat at the end near the sushi bar so it was exciting to watch these sushi chefs yield their magic and make these delicious dishes.

David suggested items for us to try based off of our previous orders and at the end gave his opinion on what to try next time we came.

We miss the old decor. That samurai painting was so awesome! New stuff looks great too though. Haha
I personally would recommend the lemon salmon roll and the monkey brain.
We go there all the time specifically for those.
Service is always incredible. All the staff is awesome.
