For $27 a night, the stay was well worth it for what it is. We were just stopping quickly overnight on a road trip, so did not use any of the other facilities.
The check-in process was long, as they only have 3-4 staff at the front desk for the entire 700+ room hotel. Had to wait 20-30 mins to check-in, and the front desk agent said it sometimes can take 2+ hours when busy. Lots of cigarette smoke from the casino in the front-desk area. I do not like that they do not guarantee a non-smoking room when booking.
The room itself was okay. Some updates were obviously attempted with new furniture, but the overall room shows its age. Cleanliness was fairly superficial. There were mounds of dust on some furniture items/light fixtures, and found some hair elastics/pins on the ground under the sink, etc. Bathroom fixtures are quite old, but the shower water pressure was probably the best I've had at any hotel - wow! Sheets were clean, bed was reasonably comfortable. Room amenities minimal. Only a TV - no coffee maker, fridge, etc.
Would definitely consider again for a short stay if ever needing an overnight on the way by.
Every time we need to stay here, the room is cooled off and lights are on before we get to the hotel door. The staff, including on the phone and at Registration and the ones who prepare the rooms are ALL so friendly and helpful. They treat you as if NO question is a dumb question, even though they have most likely answered the same ones hundreds of times each and every day. I'm always so grateful that The Virgin River is available and accommodating and so pleasant! Thank you Thank you Thank you!
For the price, it’s very good. Quite a few of the negative reviews here refer to things related to the “casino” and not to the “hotel”. If you’re looking for an inexpensive place to stay, this really is a good option. It looks like a very basic hotel room, but it is clean and comfortable enough. The big advantage is that the casino is only a few steps away. It’s not some huge casino but it has everything you would ever really need or want. I appreciated the fact that it had a video arcade as well as a bowling alley! There are two places to eat, at least. You can get everything from breakfast to pizza to prime rib, etc. I really liked it here. Again, when reflecting on the fact that it is very inexpensive, it really is a very good deal then.
Small casino, but adequate. Very cheap room prices. Rooms are adequate. For $30 there are no complaints.
Second time here. We got to see much more of this place. Very good cafe that is open 24 hours. Food was fast and tasty. And cheap like the room prices. There is also a buffet that has breakfast, lunch and dinner. We did breakfast and it was good!
Pool was nice. Just about the only complaint was that it was 115 so the ice maker could not keep up with demand so we had to go across the street and get several bags of ice. Rooms don't have fridges or microwaves. But it is 30 bucks or less for a night and they do have a very competent cafe open 24 hours. So worth the money!
