Greek Taverna

Surprisingly good. Moussaka like in Greece

I grew up in Astoria, NY, and enjoyed dining at Greek restaurants and diners for many years, but the Greek Taverna in Edgewater NJ Atops my list. Warm pita slices, followed by the freshest and tastiest gyro I've ever had, accompanied with house made tzatziki sauce and house made potato chips. Wow!

So awesome. The food was amazing and unexpectedly cheap. BYOB unless you want wine tho.

The restaurant is always clean, which is a major plus for me! I have been very pleased with the consistency in great service and food quality. The waitstaff is attentive, patient and not overbearing. I explore different dishes on the menu when I visit, but the staff have great recommendations, like the melted goat cheese, almond and apricot appetizer with pitabread. It was delicious!! Parking can be tricky, so I usually head for the free garage instead of circling the lot too much.

Very good food. The menu had all kinds of traditional Greek items. We got the seafood combo and lamb ribs with a side of Greek lemon rice. Food turned out to be delicious. The service was on point. I would definktely go back!
