El Norte Mexican Restaurant, Sports Bar & Lounge

Quaint little restaurant; good creep spot LOL. I've only been there three times and the food was different all three times. The first time, it was amazing. The second time was okay. The third time was better than okay, but not amazing... Go figure. Good service though.

Still the best authentic Mexican food in Northern New Jersey after 20 years!!! I have been gone that long from New Jersey but I was still leaving here when the first opened. Use to go with my parents and siblings quite frequently on the weekends for great food and Mariachis! Stopped in with a friend for a late lunch after all these years they are still as I remembered the best authentic Mexican Food in Northern New Jersey!! I told the server my story (she was amazing by the way!!)on how I use to go there back in the day when they first opened up and the food was still as delicious and authentic as when they first opened up...why??? The original chef is still there!!!! Thanks El Norte for taking me back to those great memories of my family and I enjoying great food, entertainment and service!!

Great authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. If you order an appetizer of guacamole they give you a lot. The only improvement I have is that the waiter should try checking in more frequently.

As authentic as authentic Mexican food gets. The only suggestion for this place is maybe play more Mexican music. The menu has a huge amount of dishes. The Gringo steak is a good choice for those who don’t know what to get. Just watch out for that habanero sauce.
