All the food here is huge! Also, tasty. Pastrami is comparable to Katz in NYC. Be careful what you order as you might order to much.
It is one of my last meal restaurants. If i was dying tomorrow, i would be here. The pastrami is magical, possibly life changing, it makes me understand everything wonderful in kosher dining. It also ruins your enjoyment of all lesser deli meats. After Harold's, you will be limited to enjoying only top teir kosher style delis. Enjoy the pickle bar, and devour a triple decker with friends. The steaks are also huge. And the corned beef tongue... fabulous. This is the real deal. The desserts feed a college baseball team with each portion. It is a New Jersey Icon. Enjoy the seedy decor and mediocre location, it shows just how much it is all about the food!
The food is amazing! Sandwiches are overstuffed and delicious. We had a party of 9 and had a variety of meat sandwiches including the turkey, pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, french fries and onion rings. The pickle bar is delicious and the cakes were mile high. Don't even know how you can eat them! Been here a few times and will go back again. Harold's rival any NYC deli, even Katz, which I grew up with, being a city girl. A MUST TRY! Oh, BTW, try the chicken soup with matzo. You will be pleasantly surprised!
Parking was tight being this place haves to share a lot with a hotel. Beer on tap was cold but small. 10oz glass I think. The pickle bar was fresh and delicious. The bread on my sandwich was good but the Pastrami was a little fatty. I'll give this place 1 more chance.
Delicious bacon cheeseburger. The biggest cheeseburger I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly, extremely juicy. They did not cut back on the bacon, it was honestly enough to make a BLT out of. Fries were separate from the burger but they cooked to perfection. One order of fries can easily be split between 2-3 people. I had no room for dessert but the cakes looked massive and delicious. Service was attentive and fast. They also have a free pickle bar as well.
