Sits next to Batteries+, wouldn't have seen the sign from afar.

Really good, don't think I know if another udon place around here. I like udon better than ramen since the broth is thinner. Kind of like pho.

Agedashi tofu was different than I was expecting, had a thin crispy layer around it. Still really good.

Karaage was just like karaage you might get at a hole in the wall place in Japan. Like one of those, order from a vending machine at the front sort of places. The kind that gives you a ticket and you give it to the cook.

Nikutama udon was exactly what I was expecting. Tantan spicy pork also exactly what my friend wanted. An added egg was delicious and creamy.

Seems like the eggplant was removed from the appetizers. Little sad we missed it, was hoping it was like the one at Sagami. Guess I'll never know.

I'm surprised this place isn't as popular as rairairamen (just for people who want a less heavy broth or less salty soup). A similar small menu, so you know they specialize in what they do.

I usually don't like writing reviews but I am moved to do so here because it is really a gem hidden in a rather blah looking strip mall. I want its business to thrive so that I may sample Kiri's delicious udon for years to come. The highlight and star of the menu is really the handmade udon that the owner had told us he learned how to make first hand while he studied in Japan. The broth is light and soothing, a contrast to the sodium laden broths at ramen places everywhere these days. You cannot get fresh made udon at other restaurants in the area. You'd probably have to go north up near NYC metro area to get anything similar. You can't go wrong with any of the handmade udon options.

It’s a rare to find an authentic Japanese restaurant that specializes in Udon in south Jersey. The noodles are made from scratch, the broth has the right amount of umami, and the portion was deceptively more than I thought which is a plus.
We went when they opened on Sunday and I believe the only worker was the owner, server, and cook because I saw no one else there. I will be back to try more and support the business!

An unassuming little place with excellent, authentic udon. I ate here opening week and after ordering, learned that they did not yet have a credit card machine. The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to let me pay via Zelle. The udon noodles were exactly as you'd expect with a good chew and slippery texture. Broth was flavorful and tempura well seasoned and crispy. I also had the karaage which was delicious and as well. A true hidden gem for the neighborhood!

I think this place is mid. The word mid describes this place perfectly. I am not sure which part of these dishes were homemade but it is supposed to be homemade. Karaage was the best dish. It was crispy but the chicken was bit dry. Udon was ok. The frozen grapes are complementary. Lastly, service was mid because there was one person doing everything. He was cooking + taking orders + serving. This was Friday late lunch so I don't know how that would work for them in the long run but the guy was nice.
