Island Jerk

John and his asst. were fantastic today. My mother and I stopped n for a visit this afternoon. They were extra pleasant and friendly. I'm a veg and I ordered rice n peas and cabbage to go. Just ate it and the flavors were delish. I did ask for fresh scotch bonnet and they accommodated. I do enjoy heat. My Mom thought the oxtail was very good, she never had before and was pleasantly surprised. My daughter had the jerk and said it was very flavorful. The customers were all very sweet and the place had a good flow of Jamaicans coming through, we hung out for a lil and came back to grab some extra food an hr or so later. Ppl are regulars, John is extra cool and friendly. I really appreciated the warmth and hospitality. His front man again very patient and helpful. We will be back for sure.

This restaurant has amazing food! I got the oxtails, yummy and the jerk is amazing. I am only giving 3 stars because the place is filthy and cold. No proper seating for their customers.

The food isn't bad but the service is horrible. Sometimes they act like they don't even want to make money that day.

We came to NJ to visit friends. We called numerous places for made to order Escovitch fish. The man I spoke to said they don't have it on the menu... But he will get the fish and make it for me. He cooked a huge Snapper fish for me, and it was excellent! My husband loved his curry chicken.
