The dining service was quick! Restaurant is a little loud but they have an innovative menu full of goodies you can find anywhere else in the area like orange creme stuffed French toast.
I'm not a fan of "Free Flowing Kitchens" and that's why only 4 stars for service, but our 3 of 4 small plates and 2 sandwiches for two others in our party all came out within about a 4 minute span. Not sure why our GOAT Fries came out so much later when the two sandwiches that came included fries. I saw previous reviews that there weren't many fries in the container with sandwiches, but those who got them in our party thought it was a satisfactory amount. Everyone enjoyed all the dishes and we really liked the octopus. It was tender and had a little char. The wait staff should be informed of beer no longer available that is listed on the menu. I didn't get my second choice until we were half done eating, but we'll be back.
UPDATE 12\13\23 No longer a free flowing kitchen and the four in our party receive their food in a reasonable amount of time and all at the same time.
UPDATE 3\31\24 Easter; Restaurant was less than a quarter full at 7pm. Plenty of service staff. Our waitress was very nice. But... I'm not sure how they selected the hostess. Not a smile or any greeting or even a comment to follow her. We did follow her after she picked up menus. She dropped them on the table and continued without looking back to the service counter to chat with a couple of waitresses. She looked miserable whenever we saw her walk around the entire time. Not the best first impression when you walk into a restaurant.
First time here! Saw on FB that it was having entertainment and on a Thursday nite, decided to give it a try.
The entertainment was “Stealing Savanah”- great guys! Friendly, took requests and very talented. They also have a full band so recommend you check them out.
The restaurant decor, I really liked. The set up was good too. The place was busy. But not too busy.
Wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Drinks- we ordered a GOAT TEA- their version of a LI Iced tea and an expresso tini. To be honest, meh- not bad but not good. Tasted a bit weak. For 2 drinks for $24 expected a bit more “uumph”
We heard they do “farm to table” so we took a chance on the “Mezze Platter”. A mix of veggies and hummus, Tatziki and middle eastern babaganush-
The entertainment kept us company as we waited 30 min for it. When we received it, the presentation was good and tasted very fresh. Worth the wait.
I noticed a lot of people ordering the burger and fries or chicken and waffles- will try that next time.
Went for late night drinks and a plate of nachos. Service was definitely better than in the past! Got a table right away and Skyler was right there to get us off right! Martini was nice and strong! Raised the rating to 5 stars! We'll be back soon!
Been a couple of months, and the things we like we still like, the things we didn't, we still don't. Walking in at 7 on a Saturday, I'd expect a wait. However, when there's more than half a dozen tables that need bussing and could be turned over quickly, that would help cut down wait time and turn over more tables per evening. Our server was friendly, and the drinks and food still were the highlights of our visit. Had the stroganoff again and the miso salmon. Both were delicious.
Had a nice dinner at The Jersey G.O.A.T Grill. Bar staff was on point, service was quick and drinks were strong. Very good selection of local craft beers! Worth going if your a craft beer fan especially after your local brewery closes at night as GOAT has late hours. Service in the restaurant is a little more spotty, we waited a little while even though we could see several available tables. After we were seated, I don't think they told a server we were there as no one came by. Eventually, Katelyn B stopped and asked if anyone was helping us, when we said no, she apologized and said she would take care of us, and she did! She was tremendous!! Food was very good, we had the beef stroganoff and a pulled pork electric knock down some of the wait time and Cuban sandwich. Menu is not big, but there is a good selection. Chalking up the service to being new, so with the otherwise great experience, we'll be back.
Great experience. Food was really good. Drinks were yummy. Atmosphere was very nice (even the bathrooms are pretty)! Decent pricing especially if you hit happy hour (: The menu was amazing, had so many meal choices. I'll definitely be returning to The Jersey Goat soon, and I'll be bringing more friends!
