Sukho Thai Restaurant

Update: Just went here the other night and the food is as good as ever. This is authentic Thai and I love that Aum takes pride in making the food as close as it is from her homeland.

Summary - This is my new favorite (and only) Thai restaurant I patronize. The food here is absolutely on another level and Aum takes pride in the food that is prepared. Her conscientiousness to delivering authentic flavors is a dining experience. While the restaurant is unassuming, Sukho Thai is a reminder that no matter the ambience, food is what elevates the greatness of a restaurant.

Full Review - I heard about a new Thai restaurant in the Runnemede area. After passing the place twice, I parked and walked to the restaurant. For reference, it is near the tattoo place and will require parking on one of the side streets or at the municipal parking lot. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Aum (the owner). She quickly got us seated and let us know there were a lot of orders. Her pleasantness was above and beyond.

The following items were sampled: Thai tulip dumplings, chicken curry puff, mung bean curry puff, coconut soup, clear broth noodle soup with chicken, vegetable penang curry dish, and mango sticky rice. The beverages were Thai tea and Thai coffee. Absolutely everything was delicious and felt unique in my mouth.

From start to finish, this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in at least a few years. I cannot speak enough about the food here and advocate for others to come in and try it.

Delicious experience!! It’s a small, hole in the wall place but the food is outstanding. Some of the best Penang curry I’ve tried. Very creamy and flavorful. The beef was a little tough so I think next time I’ll try chicken. Probably best to go on a weekday, otherwise you’ll need a reservation on the weekend since it’s small.

Absolutely thrilled to have an excellent, reasonably priced Thai restaurant in the area! Everything was so good and fresh. My daughter, who doesn’t often rave about food just told me that she wants to add the curry chicken puffs to her “last meal“ list, they were that good. The chicken satay was good overall and the peanut sauce is excellent with a tiny kick to it. The Pad Se Ew was yummy, though I wish there was a choice to have it with beef. And the mango sticky rice was outstanding. Cannot wait to order again and try more things from the menu!

Sukho Thai was every bit a discovery. All the dishes we tried were very well balanced and as flavorful as they can get without overpowering the senses. Tulip dumplings and drunken noodles served here are not to be missed. The light and smooth Tom Yum soup holds back on the heat but sliced peppers are provided on the side to customize according to personal tastes. Will be back a few times to explore other dishes on the menu. Recommend to top it off with iced tea and sticky rice with mango. To top it off, the owner makes the guests feel at home with wonderful service and going above and beyond to make it a very fulfilling dining experience.

Wow! What an awesome new Thai restaurant. The food is incredible. It’s authentic, fresh, and healthy. The owners are amazing and hooked us up with an off-menu item, free Thai tea, and a free dumplings! The lemongrass soup, Pad Mi noodles, drunken noodles, curry, and Thai tea are my favorites! Great for take-out, but also great for dine-in. Love the open kitchen so you can watch the chef in action and smell your food being cooked! 🤤
