Windrift Restaurant

It's expensive, yes, but it's an expensive hotel right on the beach in Avalon, NJ, it's expected. All the food and drinks I've had there were awesome. The bartenders were all nice and held good conversation. The only drawback I can think of is that the customers there can get snotty. I sat next to an older couple who complained to management that their salad didn't have enough dressing on it, but refused an extra side of dressing to fix it. Some people definitely have that "I have money, bow at my feet" kind of vibe when they roll through there, it's unfortunate. But, grab a seat at their outdoor tiki bar, get yourself a nice drink, and enjoy the view and sounds of the beach.

Had lunch there this past weekend. Food was very good and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. After lunch we moved to the bar, drinks were good until I watched the bartender (Seamus) scratch his butt while talking to other patrons at the bar. (Under the pants, about wrist deep from what I saw) Wiped face with same hand after, and did not wash hands in the time before we left. (About a half hour)

Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
