Ditto! Maison Bleu deserves the accolades. Last night six of us all had an excellent meal. We raved about the oysters and the potato soup with fresh crunchy shredded leeks and truffled croutons (OMG!) The Coq au Vin, pasta with scallops and Wagyu burgers were killer! Then delicious fruit tart, chocolate tart and crème brûlée...all excellent. On top of it all, our server Sarah Jane was capable, knowledgeable and fun😘 Thank you MB!
First of all, let's talk about our server Vito, super welcoming and down to earth. He knew all of the specials and answered our questions quickly and expertly. That's the guy you want if you go and he is working.
Secondly, the food was phenomenal. We went during restaurant week but they were gracious enough to allow us to order off the regular menu. Full disclosure we had like 5 appetizers and didn't order the main courses, but the appetizers were just *chefs kiss*. I can only imagine that the main courses are even more tasty.
One thing to note, at least at the time of this writing, is that the restaurant is BYOB. However, there is an alcohol store about a 30 second walk from the restaurant with a solid selection of wines to pair with your meal.
10/10 would recommend to a friend. Almost hesitant to post this review in fear of too many people wanting to attend and making it more difficult to get a table the next time I come back.
In town for our ten yr anniversary made reservations and stated we we’re celebrating an anniversary we arrived and there were only about 5 other couples in restaurant we read online dress code was casual elegant not sure why as we were sat on one of two very plain porches our view was of the door to the hostess stand not sure what happened to the elegant dining room advertised the servers wore jeans t shirts and sneakers. The food was ok the coq au vin was decent the potato leek soup bland and the ratatouille over pasta was filling at 30$. Our dessert the lemon blueberry tart was runny. I didn’t expect anything for our anniversary but a better table would of been nice I thought perhaps that was why when they ask in the reservation if you are celebrating anything. Definitely not a special occasion restaurant I would feel totally comfortable dressed in jeans and sneakers.
Beautiful setting and the food was delightful. I highly recommend the fish of the day, vegetable pasta and non dairy crème brûlée ! I will definitely be visiting again soon.
Beautiful, intimate setting with really incredible and creative dishes. My wife loves French food and she thoroughly enjoyed her steak tartare and coq au vin. I was delighted to see a number of plant based options on the menu; we were both blown away by the walnut pate and the umami burger was delicious! Whatever you do, make sure you save room for dessert. The crème brûlée and chocolate tart were divine!
What a great addition to the Cape May restaurant scene. We will be back often
