Best Chicken over rice I've ever had
Easily the best halal food I've ever had. WAY better taste than the iconic Halal Guys. The men over at Halal R Us are extremely friendly, make the food fresh and hot, and its almost half the price of the platters at Halal Guys.
I love he’s food very fresh I will come back this for sure
Please. Do not get Halal R Us mixed up with the national chain the Halal Guys on Halsey Street. You will pay twice the price at Halal Guys for what I found to be quite a bit of deliciousness piled between a warm Greek pita round. Moe was super friendly. He was curious to know why I was taking pictures. When I told him I was a Helper he was not familiar with site. It seems there are no Yelp reviews of Halal R Us but reviews can be found on Google. The afternoon I ordered it was cold with sweeping rain, yet five people waited around to place an order. As you can see from the pics on the truck these guys do everything from hamburgers to shrimp wraps to gyros to the yummy rice bowls. I got the chicken gyro. The chicken was piled high on the warm pita. Then the shredded lettuce and tomato were added. The famous white sauce completed the wrap (tip: do not make the rookie mistske of going of treating the white sauce like a fire hose putting out a three alarm fire. Less is better, so says Moe, the affable and deft culinary artisan who mans the truck's grill. After I took pictures of my yummy creation, Moe double-wrapped it in foil and thanked me for my visit. I got all of this for $4.00. In New York, this would have cost $10.00 on the street and at least 12 at a street fair. I definitely will add fries next time. I was totally satisfied with this gyro. I am always wary of coming across a gristle or bone in street food but this was not the case. This truck is super clean and Moe was a pleasure to chat with. Moe made it clear that they were NOT the Halsey St. Halal Guys. There is a distinction for sure--in taste and in price. A true foodie knows that you cannot beat the street food experience. Definitely check out this food truck. You will not be disappointed.
The Food is always satisfactory and served quickly at a very good price.
