House of 'Que

The only dueling-piano bar/barbecue restaurant that I have ever been to. And guess what? It works! The wings are delicious. They just aren't breaded so some people might not like that. Otherwise, I like the place. I ha the wings and pulled brisket sandwich and they were both great!

I go here from time to time to eat average bbq. Its reasonably priced, it works. Their mac and cheese with a brisket on top is actually very good.

Stopped in after a meeting. I'm from Oklahoma so my skepticism was running high when it was recommended. I was pleasantly surprised. Combo platter came with sausage, brisket, and two ribs, with two sides. (I had mac and cheese and sweet potatoes.) Everything was very good. Sweet potatoes were the highlight. Staff was friendly. Everyone working in the front of the house checked to make sure I was good. Southern Hospitality is alive and well in Jersey.

Love the decor and the view. The staff was very friendly and the prices are reasonable. But i found that the brisket was a bit dry but did have great flavor (you can tell they use a good simple rub and good wood). The ribs i felt were a bit overdone and could have used some more flavor. Also it would have been better had they removed the membrane from the ribs. Not at a bad experience its just that the food could use a bit more tweeking.

The House of ‘Que has a great (outdoor seating) view of the Hudson River and Manhattan.

Their brisket is nice and juicy and it pairs perfectly with the tangy sauce. The Mac and Cheese was somewhat of a disappointment, however, as it is lacking flavor.

If you are not able to take advantage of their happy hour, I recommend trying their Oreo Shake, it’s amazing.

Finally, the staff is really friendly and service is very quick on a not-so-busy day.
