“My friend took me to NaanChing. I was very impressed as soon as I walked into the restaurant. The owner of the family owned restaurant greeted my friend from his previous visit and made us feel very welcomed. The restaurant is very modern decor with functional layout. The wait staff was very attentive. I do not usually have Thai or Indian food so I relied on the chef and waitress for recommendations. The food was excellent and very falvorful. I will be back soon and highly recommend NaanChing.”

“One of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in the New York area. I always wonder why is this place not so well known. They have a well crafted menu with a large selection of meat, poultry, sea food, rice and noodle dishes. The soup dumplings are unbelievably good here. All dishes taste really good with my personal favorite being spicy chicken with rice. Service is nothing special to talk about and depending on how busy the restaurant is your experience will vary. The ambience and seating area is nice. Prices are quite low and that makes this restaurant a great value for money.”

“Read the mostly positive reviews online so decided to check out this Paulus Hook gem. The atmosphere stands out... High ceilings, nice dark interiors, long bar, great for a date night. Food was decent, and the 3-course dinner option is a great value. But the service needs attention... After we were seated, no one came to check on us after the busboy served us water.,. Waited for 10 minutes, and then went up to the bar myself to get a glass of wine. Another 10 minutes go by.... And finally this nice older gentleman came to check on us, and took our order. Turned out he was the manager, and he, along with a cast of other 2-3 different busboys & servers brought out our dishes. After the table was cleared by the manager, waited another 10 minutes before we had to ask for our dessert. And it wasn't even that busy....Pluses were the atmosphere and price/value for the food... And even though the manager's positive attitude and helpfulness made up for the other lack of attentiveness and service, management/ownership should take note.”

“Oh this is a little gem! What a great place and absolutely delicious food! We came here for dinner last night and absolutely enjoyed the food, drinks, and service! We had grilled prawns, bacon wrapped dates in a maple sauce, ground pork and shrimp stuffed calamari in a curry sauce, and their special of the night - steak, which was juicy, tender and cooked to perfection, it came with sweet potatoes with truffles. Everything was so delicious and we enjoyed it so much. Also, I had Kentucky Gold whiskey drink, which had a bit smoky flavor and I enjoyed it a lot. We finished all the food and, unfortunately, got too full to try the dessert. But we are looking forward to coming here again to try other dishes and the desserts! The food arrived fast and all the staff was friendly, helpful and polite. The place is cozy and nice. The only thing what I would change in this place is the sink in the bathroom, which looked way too old and for that reason a kind of dirty. Other than that, this is definitely my favorite place in Jersey City!”

“First - the service will be awful. Period! Even by Chinese restaurant standards! Been coming here since they opened a few years ago - and what brings us back is the food! The wait staff is completely inattentive and more absorbed in their phones or talking to each other! So be prepared to wave your hands or just go up to them to get service. Yes, even to just take your order!! The food is authentic, and they have a rather interesting variety of it from traditional breakfast bits to proper dinner dishes. It's fresh and made to order.. But management seems to prioritize takeout over people who are physically there for no reason. So, make sure you're not a rush, and things will be fine. Also, pray and hope that you get the lone Hispanic waiter there - as he is the only one who actually hustles and provides service in the place!!”
