Went there for brunch and the food was very good. Pleasant staff and the service excellent. Very nice atmosphere in a historical looking building.

The Hawke is currently my favorite roost when I need to unwind my head, sort it out, and repack it. The shrubs -hand mixed, pumpkin and another tart fruit that I can't quite recall- are excellent. Atmospherically, this place is the coziest ship-bottom I have found yet, a combination of rowing club, English pub, and backyard at your best friend's house. Every time I visit I've felt at home there before I even sat down; to me that is the mark of a solid establishment. If you go, please be kind to the bartender - selfish me wants this place to be there just as it is, staff intact, when I need to escape to somewhere where it's okay to just be.

At the recommendation of a friend, I dined here for the first time with my husband and adult son. The bar is lively and noisy - and while I love a lively and noisy bar, it made for a loud dining area. We liked it anyway - but just something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a quieter place that makes conversation easier. Anyway, between the three of us we ordered a salad with grilled salmon, hamburger with bacon, and grilled tuna sandwich. All were enjoyed. The salad was enough for two so half was packed up to go. Both the burger and the sandwich came with house made chips which were yummy. Nice wine and beer list - and the prices on the drinks were super reasonable. Definitely would dine here again as the menu had quite a variety.
