Metro Diner

Service was excellent. Our server, Janine found the perfect herbal tea for me, it was delicious! Food came out plated attractively. I had the chicken salad sandwich with sauteed seasonal vegetables. The sandwich itself was put together attractively and the chicken salad itself was tasty. My son had cinnamon roll pancakes; which he said were pretty good.

I'm giving it 5 stars because there was nothing wrong with it. It just wasn't what I was expecting.

I would liken Metro Diner to a very upscale Denny's. It isn't like a typical NJ diner.

Food was fine. I ordered an omelet with french fries and coffee. Coffee was good. They were able to bring me milk instead of just creamer. Omelet was fluffy, so they add flour to it. French fries were good.

The wait staff was very receptive. They were attentive, and very helpful.

Saw the news that this chain had opened in East Brunswick and knew the first chance I had to get up there, I'd be all over the Bold City Burger. Made it there yesterday. Arrived around lunch, place was PACKED, but the wait wasn't too long. Service was fast and friendly (though I'd ordered the burger without the jalepeno's, they came anyway, but were easy to remove.) Chips were tasty. Decor was what you expect. Place was clean, everyone seemed to be having a great day. Total for the two of us (my friend had a similar burger which was also great) with tip was $36, about what you'd expect in this part of the state for a burger this size. Plenty of parking, easy access of Route 18 Southbound. Recommended!

We love the metro diner! The menu is small for a diner but it is actually a good thing as they seem to have really perfected every menu item. I got Eggs Benedict which were the best I have had at a diner, and my boyfriend got a crazy burger which had two grilled cheese sandwiches as the bun. The burger was cooked perfectly medium rare. We also spoke to the owner briefly who was a delight. We will definitely be returning!

We did not realize that tonight was their first day! Had we known we might have waited to try it out. The restaurant was packed but the service was excellent Amanda B was great. Wow for the waffles and the strawberry butter is amazing! Actually everything we chose was delicious! So happy to have Metro in East Brunswick, welcome to the neighborhood!
