We took a trip from Old Bridge, NJ, to this location, which was definitely worth the trip. The food was exceptional and was a flavor bomb of deliciousness. Quality food and top service!! This spot is called Umai Bowls, and boy, oh boy, UMAI FLAVORS 10/10 babyyyy!!! We ordered a Thai tea and passionfruit tea with passionfruit jelly and the steamed buns with Chicken katsu, the titan signature burrito, and the Japanese tacos.
10/10 for food
10/10 for cost
Went here on a whim but it was definitely worth it!
Had the Charsiu Ramen, insanely good. And I really enjoyed those spicy wontons. Those were spot on. Will be returning.
Amazing place!!! Poke bowls are 10/10
Japanese Nachos and Tofu Nuggets are a must.
Poke bowls 10/10 recommendation.
Presentation is beautiful and the food is just as good.
Beef noodle soup is the best in terms of price and taste. I definitely recommend it. Also we have teriyaki chicken rice, it is also delicious. Tuna sushi portion is tiny but is very fresh. See weed wrap is very fresh and good as sushi wrap. This is 2nd times for past 20 days. Last time I tried salmon poke, it is refreshing, tasty.
Super friendly staff made the experience that much more enjoyable! Apparently this restaurant used to be located at the Mercer mall in Lawrenceville but has since moved to Edison. They also have another branch *Scarlet bowls" open in New Brunswick.
Curious to try everything but had to limit ourselves to just a few dishes, we ordered the Kakumi bowl, signature wontons in homemade hot sauce, signature beef noodles soup, and maps tofu with rice.
Loved the wonton, which weren't all that spicy which I liked. Wonton were very flavorful. The broth in the beef noodle soup was exceptional. Not greasy at all and made the dish much more enjoyable. The beef was a little bit dry in the middle but overall, not too bad. The Kakumi bowl was a brothless noodle dish with sliced cucumbers and roast pork. The roast pork was very tender and paired nicely with the noodles. I felt that the noodles could of used a bit more sauce as it clumped together in one big lump that was hard to separate to eat. Flavorwise, pretty good.
Lastly, if you don't like peppercorn, you probably won't like the mapo tofu. It has a very strong peppercorn flavor and it was just a bit salt for our taste. We ended up packing it to go and we will be adding more rice to it at home.
Overall, good place to eat with plenty of variety. We will be going back to try their poke bowls and sushi burrito one day as well as their bubble tea.
