This is a Spanish Bodega something like a miniature convenience store. They have a large selection of fresh produce as well. If you go in the back of the store they have a hot food section that seems to me is fresh every time I go in. There's usually several selections and two different sized trays of food. The smaller tray is about 5 or 6 in square and approximately two to 4 inches in depth and they pack it with food the larger tray is about three times this size. The larger tray is three section styrofoam tray. One section goes along the length of the tray then there are two smaller sections. Usually ufirst would choose rice either white or yellow rice with pinto beans cooked into it. They also have a pan of pinto beans in sauce if you want your rice to be wet. After choosing the rice and beans that you want they usually have two or three meats. I always get the chicken it falls off the bone and they give you a large portion equivalent to a whole chicken leg and thigh I would say at least a pound worth of chicken. Or you can choose steak that has been cooking for hours and can easily be torn with your teeth, no knife needed. On occasion I have seen sweet maduros or platanos or yuca that I'm pretty sure they boil in possibly chicken broth so it is full of flavor. The small tray is $4 and the large tray is $6. If you want to add a couple of pieces of yuca or maduros, they usually add $1 for each additional item. The trays are so packed full that the juices are usually running out the sides so they put it in a black plastic bag with a plastic fork and napkin for you. The food is the perfect temperature for digging in as soon as you get it out to your car. I can easily get to meals usually 3 meals except the third meal might not have any chicken out of a large container when I add yuca for $7. Even to meals for the $7 is a great value and the flavor is wonderful. If I'm not mistaken it's Dominican flavors. Although one time they had spaghetti which was just spaghetti noodles and some cheap spaghetti sauce which I think tasted more like tomato soup and no seasoning, meat or cheese which was terrible and I felt it was a complete waste of $4 that they charged for a medium sized styrofoam tray. My one-year-old son wouldn't even eat it it was terrible and I definitely will never get the spaghetti again. Like I mentioned earlier this is also a bodega so while you're in there getting your lunch or dinner for later, you could also pick up a pack of cigarettes or some Lottery. I looked around the store for some sort of pastry possibly a brownie or cookie and couldn't find anyting appealing. Although they did have some Spanish pastries but I wouldn't chance buying without knowing if I would like them or not. They look like the type of pastries one would eat only if they had it before.
