Went here for Valentine's Day with my husband for the first time after dying to try this place. LOVED it! The atmosphere was so trendy and inviting. The decor is gorgeous. Our server helped me with sushi choices and he was very knowledgeable. We also got teriyaki chicken meatballs and they were awesome! They are a large portion for the value. For dinner, I got the Salmon topped with Japanese BBQ. It was perfectly cooked. The sauce was delicious and the sides were great. It was not hard to finish the whole thing. will definitely be back!

I've come to Taka so many times and it never disappointed me. Make sure you make a reservation on weekends! Great service unless it's very busy, but reasonable. Outstanding owner, awesome atmosphere and phenomenal food! Also Take Away, you can call and pre-order. One of the best places in town for sure.

Very lively place on a Saturday evening. Without reservations the wait was 1-1/2 hours around 8:00 PM, but the staff were so accommodating they found a spot at the bar for me. In spite of the crowds, the service was excellent. Thanks Mike! The Soba soup was grand, but the Calamari has too much batter for my taste. All in all a great experience.

Simply amazing. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Classy, upscale, and interesting. Our server (I forget his name, but a tallish man who told us to “be well” after our meal) was PHENOMENAL. Seriously some of the best service I’ve ever had and I worked in the food industry for years. My partner and I were really taking our time enjoying our food (some of the best sushi I’ve ever had, and sushi is a FAVORITE dish of ours) and he was just as available as you’d wish him to be. There right at the moment you needed him but gave us our space to enjoy our meal at our pace. We enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we moved to the bar after our 2 hour dinner and the experience continued to be top notch. The bartender eagerly remade our drinks when I had the smallest of complaints and stuck around to make sure we were enjoying them. We will most definitely be back and we have found a new go-to spot in Asbury. We frequent the area and have been to many of the bars/restaurants in the area and this truly blew us away. Drooling thinking about their sushi......

Excellent food and service. Good selection of beer, sake, and wine. Fantastic atmosphere and wide selection of dishes. Spacious tables and not too loud, though there were a lot of people. Parking was a bit of a pain, but not unexpected. I had the chicken katsu and the barbecue sauce that came with it was phenomenal.
