MJ's Restaurant Bar and Grill

Very old decor, rough around the edges. I was there just before happy hour and the bartender was nice enough to let me known to order at happy hour. Only a 8 minute wait. She also knew the menu very well and offered great suggestions for the best bang for my buck. The spicy shrimp appetizer was very filling but not as spicy as it should be. Also try the Matawan and Middletown locations.

Best wings in town! The atmosphere is great and the food even better. You won't be disappointed.

Great place, was there for a repast, so did not have full menu. They gave us 4 choices of entree with salad, 2 family style apps and cake. The servers were attentive and nice. Food was very good. Chicken Franchase and bbq wings are delicious! Area we had to ourselves was to the left of the main door, area was a little small for the number of people, but we made it work fine. The area was also wide open to the bar, and we were making eulogies and so-forth so it was not as private as I would have liked but otherwise good. Maybe a curtain in the future for maximum flexibility..? Bathroom was close, clean, but a little dated and beat up (it is a bar tho). Overall very good experience!

I've always had a good experience when I visit this restaurant. I actually love this place. They have GREAT food , good drinks and a nice atmosphere!! Price are reasonable too :)

We've been living in AP for nearly three years but never stopped by. What a mistake that was. We finally did, and we'll be back! Warm, friendly service, and the quality of the food surprised and delighted. I had a huge beet salad, as good as any in town, followed by a bowl of hearty chili. The chili was low on tomatoes, in a good way, and high on beefy flavor, non-mushy beans, and a nice kick. Exceeded our expectations for pub dining.
