Rosie's Ocean Gate

Enjoyed our 22nd Wedding Anniversary dinner at Rosie's OG. Excellent service, food and drinks. The calamari was perfect. The Ribeye was great with blacken seasoning. They also helped with my wifes gluten free request. I recommend and will be back.

The place is beautiful! A very elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. The staff is accommodating, friendly and professional.
I did feel that having a drink, appetizer and main course served to us in 40 minutes a bit rushed. I wont question why it happened, just that the pace of food service should slowed, to allow people to savor thier meal and enjoy the food. We each had a drink, the old fashioned and the blackberry margarita, which both were impeccable!
We shared the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail which was very unique and full of flavors. 5 extra jumbo shrimp and a mixture of chopped avocado, tomato, cucumber and celery served with blue tortilla chips. A great idea and visually appealing.
The ravioli bolognese was very good. I found the sauce to be slightly sweet, but filled with delicious, tender meat. The ravioli was cooked to perfection and the dollop of ricotta in the middle was a nice touch. The short ribs were nothing short of fantastic. 2 large, well cooked ribs that were falling apart. The garlic mashed potatoes were somewhat bland, though the asparagas was vibrant and a nice crunch.
For dessert was an amazing carrot cake. Firm, moist cake and a very smooth and delicious cream cheese frosting.

Finally some style to the shore! LOVED this place. Went Saturday night with reservations were seated promptly and even asked to move and were happily accommodated. Family owned is always a plus. I have an out of town guest we were looking for a good martini - she actually happened to find Rosie’s on the web and off we went. The food was so delicious and soooooo fresh. Edamame dumplings- So yummy, halibut and salmon meals Cooked to perfection the sides were so tasty. We also had the fries and crispy Brussels sprouts. Every bite I kept asking my friend “how did you find this place”. The service was excellent and a great cadence- I hate when the apps and dinner all come at once it was spaced out perfectly never felt rushed. Food was hot and no plastic seen on the table. Great atmosphere (all ages) we choose the bar area high top as for us the main dining room looked a bit sterile and quiet (every pot has a lid). The bar was lively the martinis were excellent! I heard the rooftop room has a great view. From apps and a drink or a full delicious meal this place will not disappoint. We met the owner on our way out and she was very friendly asked how we liked our meal- the entire staff so friendly and more than accommodating. They want you to have a good time and enjoy! I will be a regular!

Excited to see a new place in the area so we made a reservation and gave it a shot. From the outset I got the vibe that design and decor were the most important elements to the owners.

Ordered the strip steak and when it came it was smothered in some vague sauce as were the mashed potatoes. I must say that was shocking because a good steak doesn't need sauce other than maybe herb butter. I then cut into the steak and noticed the temperature was right but the char lines in the steak tasted burnt and almost bitter. They probably could have benefitted from a bit of oil or butter on the steak so it didn't char on the outside.

However the service was great which for a new place is better than expected. All in all the food may be overpriced for the quality that was received and although the service was good it just isn't enough to bring me back.

What a wonderful dining experience! The food was prepared to perfection. I loved the short ribs! The service my was great and the staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing.
If you want to impress a date, this is the place to dine!
Definitely can’t wait to go back.
