The Old Causeway Steak & Oyster House

An incredible, little, out of the way tavern and restaurant right next to Mud City Crab Shack. The menu focuses on amazing seafood but still offers lots of turf options, while boasting a wood fire grill used for a variety of delicious dishes. The staff is as warm and inviting as the embers of that grill, and attentive and pleasant throughout the entire visit. We stopped in for lunch and raided the appetizers menu before attacking sandwiches. The French Onion soup is beyond plentiful in onion and flavor, though it lacked a customary croutons which wasn't even close to being a deal breaker. We sampled the Blue Crab dip, which came with toasted bread slices, and were more than gratified with the crab content and cheesy goodness. A fish taco, fried calamari and crispy brussel sprouts topped off the starters and were just as enjoyable and delicious. My sister had the lobster roll, my wife had "The Big Cheese", and I had the Reuben. Everything was absolutely worth the price, which was hefty but certainly not undeserved. We look forward to returning when the weather warms up.

Good as usual! I ordered the Hawaiian Kings Sliders. Pork roll, fried egg, grilled pineapple on Hawaiian Kings rolls! Clean, friendly service! Cool looking atmosphere.

Delicious Food in the early evening / Great nightlife on Fri/Sat nights. If your looking for a good meal this is one of the best spots around. If your looking for a laid back night out with live music and good company this is the best spot around.

The layout is great and somewhat cozy.
The functioning retro borax soap dispenser and trash can (older industrial rag self closing container) were nice touches in a super clean restroom. The fried oyster sandwich was great! It is off the beaten path, on a road parallel with Rt 72. I would guess it is a great locals hangout.

The Old Causeway restaurant is a casual, classic shore experience. With a great drink list, including local craft beers, it is a fun place to gather and chat. The food menu covers all taste buds, with a focus on local seafood and steak. There are daily specials created by the chef that are always excellent additions to the already robust menu. The serving staff are all friendly, and eager to ensure you have a great dining experience.
