Mathis House, a Victorian Bed & Breakfast and Tearoom

I took my 10 year old daughter for tea at the Mathias House for Christmas. It was the most enjoyable day. Vicki is the most gracious innkeeper. I look forward to being able to spend the night at the Bed and Breakfast. Vicki gave us a fabulous tour of the house and the rooms are decorated to perfection. They are so true to the era and absolutely gorgeous. Back to the tea which was delicious! The tea selection was phenomenal and the food was superb. We cannot wait to return. Finding the Mathias House and Vicki has truly been a blessing to us!

So we returned last to spend the night at this magnificent Bed and Breakfast. It was a wonderful time to spend quality time together in this historic and beautifully decorated home. Vicki and Ron certainly make you feel right as if your in the comfort of your own home. The Bed and Breakfast was immaculate and absolutely charming with one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. The breakfast was scrumptious and theres a little something for everyone in the quaint gift shop. We were so happy to hear that Vicki and Ron are expanding the events being held at the B&B and creating a diverse and delectable menu. Tea Lunch with the extra flare. A group of 11 ladies went for a lovely and delicious lunch in the Tearoom. We were given a private area and were served scrumptious food beginning with a salad up to dessert. And scones and clotted butter were included. It was so delicious many of us bought some teas and the soup they served. The house was decorated beautifully for the holidays and the Innkeeper gave us a tour of the rooms. If you’re up for a bit of shopping they also have a gift shop of lovely teapots, cozies, and craft items. The never rushed us and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. The guest rooms were beautiful and come with a gourmet breakfast.

Great hidden gem in Toms River. Christmas gift for my mother. Great atmosphere near fire place and excellent food. Our server Lisa was awesome. Can't wait to come again!

From top to bottom, the living was easy, delicious, and 19th century beautiful. We stayed at Mathis for the Thanksgiving holiday 2019 (from Wednesday night to Saturday morning). Every morning was a delight with an amazing breakfast, ranging from scones and coffee to blueberry pancakes. Breakfast was hot, fresh, delicious, and most of all unique and original in flavor. The whole staff is friendly and helpful. The house is a treat for the eyes and it was especially so for Christmas. Every room is original and the whole house was tastefully decorated in the holiday spirit. I will definitely be visiting again. Thanks Vicki.

I’ve been for tea a few times over the past year. I’ll start out by saying what a delightful experience I’ve had every time I’ve been. The food is out of this world and the tea selection is amazing and delicious. The menu seems to always coincide with the season,I love it. I would definitely recommend having tea time at the Mathis house any time of the year!
