Ward Restaurant

I stopped by this casual Palestinian restaurant after an almost 10 years hiatus. The decor has been slightly updated. I was there 2 days before the Muslims ended their Ramadan fast and preparing to celebrate Eid Mubarak on that Friday. The grilled meats combination platter was delicious and done well.

Their service was so-so. The Male staff were polite for the most part. The females were standoffish, reserved and seemingly unfriendly to me although they didn't say anything to me nor did they appreciate my respect, politenes, gratitude and genial acknowledgment of them. On the other hand, they were "friendly" and accommodating to the other patrons who were seated in the dining hall at the time (it was past 10 p.m.). I guess it was because I was not Muslim, Arabic, Palestinian or from the middle-east.

I'm Indian American. Oh well!!! I was in "their zone". In America.

A decent middle Eastern restaurant. The restaurant has recently changed hands, and it now has a new name: Ward Restaurant. The staff is courteous and polite. The food is average; it's not spectacular, but it's not bad. If someone is looking for a quick and satisfying meal, I recommend ordering from their daily special; otherwise, you would have to wait until the food is cooked. The price is quite reasonable. I ordered a Lamb Maqlooba cooked with potatoes and eggplants, served with two sides: salad and plain yogurt, and a soda. I paid a mere $14.95. My final thought on the place that it is a good place for a casual quick meal.

Tried beef shawarma platter. It comes with hummus, rice and bread. Quantity enough to fill me up a couple of times. They gave me 3 different kind of sauce. Will be going again
