I say this as a Greek that was raised around a family of chef's: This place is great. The gyro's are good, made properly and they're huge. The Greek fries are spot on. The tiropita is absolutely fantastic. The spanikopita is probably the most fresh I've tasted, outside of my family's. Most importantly the kitchen is clean. There's a couple of nitpicks I have but all in all I'd point anyone looking for good Greek food to this place. - Kassianos
Firestix is the BEST addition to our small town!!!! There’s no Greek place within miles, and when this place opened up I couldn’t have been more excited to try it. I’ve already eaten there like 10 times, both dine in and take out. The establishment is so beautifully decorated and really feels like home. The staff is not only extremely authentically kind, but they really make you feel like family. The food is incredible, and for the portion sizes the prices are unbeatable! The food, service, atmosphere, and staff are truly amazing.
UPDATED AND AMENDED:
I returned to give the place it's due for a fair shot.
The Gyros were extremely Authentic and pleasing to a Greek connoisseurs palate.
I have added photos to enhance your visual delight.
I met with the owners and found them to be Authentically delightful.
They permiate with that exquisite Greek mannerism that is best known as Philotima (A unique type of friendliness that is best known in the culture)
The area has been blessed with a gem. If you have not yet experienced the delight for yourself, I encourage you to do so.
Thanks to my readers! I can believe that you have put me over 2 million all time! Thank You!
Had a great take out meal there! Ordered a few platters and a gyro and all were excellent! Looking forward to going back for more!
Only request is to have a spicy sauce that complements the tzatziki. That would be stellar.
Try it! It’s delicious.
I want to start by saying how grateful I am to have Mediterranean cuisine here in Wanaque. A breath of fresh air aside from fast food, pizza, and Chinese. For 15.95 I got the firestix chicken bowl. It was worth every bit of 15.95 cause the portion was HUGE. My girlfriend got the firestix chicken stick and a side of fries. Her chicken came with pita bread, and I got a Greek salad which was different than what I’m used too but I like a lot of feta cheese on my Greek salads and this had nice chunks. The style was pretty cool. I like what they did with romas old place and the menus are digital. We spent about 40$ but I also ordered more than we could eat to at least try as much as I could for this one visit. Their desert menu is extensive so I’m looking forward to going back and trying that. I’m going to try everything on the menu but I started with just these items. Everyone in town should go support our local businesses and give them a try 💯 ps. There’s more parking in the back so don’t be discouraged to pull in if you see it packed out front 😂
Just went to Firestix with the family and everyone loved their meals! Kids both said their gyro and gyro bowls were better than what they get at their old favorite Greek restaurant. I got a chicken gyro salad and while I was waiting I started to regret ordering chicken thinking it would be dry and tasteless compared to the other meat options…but when it came I was pleasantly surprised! Chicken was DELICIOUS! Crispy pieces of meal that felt like I was eating bacon (almost) and the portion was huge- so much meat, no lettuce, just all the toppings of a salad- and olives and feta. Prices great compared to other Greek restaurants. Also a nice selection of desserts that I will need to try next time! Being a new restaurant I expected kind of a long wait but food came out faster than expected (I went at about 1 in the afternoon). Definitely worth a try- I’d be willing to wait if it were at a busier time of day, too!
