La Corteza

We arrived at La Corteza and I was expecting a regular service but what I found was a very courteous hostess/waitress and superb food. I confess, I ordered a bandeja paisa thinking I was going to get an average plate, but what I got exceeded my expectations. All the ingredients in this typical.Colombian dish were of superb quality and in addition, the presentation was excellent. I was so impressed that I asked the hostess if the chef was Colombian, but to my surprise, he happens to be from Guatemala. It reflected elegance, talent and dedication. He definitely thinks outside the box when putting a dish together. I highly recommend this place. No picture of this "Gourmet Bandeja" because my appetite made me react to quickly, however, you should see it for yourself when you get a chance.

The place is beautiful. And the bathrooms are nice too (and you don’t have to go thru the kitchen ). I was pleasantly surprise when I saw how nice it was. Most Latin restaurants are not that beautiful. Food was tasty. They are looking to hire more ppl so they can improve their service. And prices are not bad.

Service, food and place are great. Portions are very good. Second time here, and love it. I was need it, a Dominican Restaurant like this.

Very friendly staff. Very good food. Large portions reasonably priced. Perfect place to linger over dinner and talk with friends. We never felt rushed. BYOB but there is a liquor store two doors down.
