The atmosphere is very nice. I had the fried chicken smothered in gravy and biscuits. Everything was very nicely plated. But if they have a little soul flavor they would not be able to get rid of me. Biscuits nice qnd flaky. My husband had catfish and grits. That was good but again a little more soul. Now he loved the grits consistency, me on the other hand like mine creamer.
The food is amazing! I'm determined to try everything in this menu. Nice family atmosphere.
I was new to this area and had some powerful cravings for delicious oxtail and collard greens and sweet yams and cornbread and I tried a few other places before finding Family Soul Spot but they weren't that good. When I walked in for the first time I immediately fell in love with the energy and the ambience there. It's got this family friendly vibe that hits you as soon as you walk in. I took one bite of my meal and got up to tell the lady Sandra how amazing it tasted. It was better than my grandmother's cooking. I have never had homemade food from a restaurant before, at least none that was as tasty as here. I can not recommend this place enough, and the owner Sandra is a wonderful woman with world-class cooking skills.
Great fried chicken and collard greens.
Friendly staff. Recommend-
Will try hot wings next time,
And possibly a southern sausage gravy breakfast
