What a great way to celebrate Chinese New Year 2019 - year of the Pig - and learn about Chinese traditions. The food was really delicious and far exceeded my expectations.

The duck was great. Service was very good. The only issue I have where they try to rip you off is when you get your bill. The bottom shows tips at 15%, 18% and 20%. But they include the sales tax in the calculation. Most will never notice, but I did. That to me is stealing from their customers. Why would anyone leave a tip on NJ sales tax?! The program could easily be fixed.

This establishment serves upscale Chinese cuisine. The food is fresh and delcious. The servings are pretty large and the prices are reasonable especially if you consider the amount of food served. The service was attentive. I loved it!

Probably the top Chinese lunch spot in the Union County region, Cathay 22 always delivers with a generous hospitality, efficient service, and consistent food quality. Recently visited this eatery and enjoyed a few different dishes from the lunch special menu. Tasting both a fish in garlic spicy sauce and a beef and scallion dish proved enjoyable. The fish wasn’t spicy so be sure to ask them to adjust accordingly if you like it with a lot of heat. It was cooked nicely though. The beef dish was overloaded in onions and only a few scallions which was a bit of a let down. While cooked nicely the excess of onions didn’t serve the dish as well as it should. The soups, both egg drop and hot and sour were spot on and delicious. For price, service, and cleanliness, this is a great lunch stop.
