“Nice store but their bagels leave a lot to be desired. Their flagel is thicker than a regular bagel (see pic)! A bagel with lox is $14.99 but only has smallish slice of lox, barely any onions, etc. Not great flavor wise as well. I do have to say the parking sucks due to high volume! When there, one of the workers cars got hit when parked.”

I think the draw is that they have some crazy flavors for bagels and cream cheese/butter. So if you're looking for that then this is your place. “We always drove by this amazing place until recently we planned to stop by to have breakfast. Ever since we have had their food we cant wait to go back there over & over again. The old school brick charm of the exterior with patio seating makes you feel you are visiting a nice quaint locality in a small town. Its tucked in the quiet leafy neighborhood of Metuchen with its old school charm.. My go to bagel spot!! They have a free parking on the side which if you are lucky you might get, however, we always park on the back side at the parking lot & its pretty cheap - 50 cents for half an hour & plenty of parking !! Once u enter the store you will get lost in the amazing aroma of freshly baked breads, gourmet muffins, cream cheese, bacons & sausages, sandwiches , salads & ofcourse coffee !! We ordered their everything bagel egg and cheese & bacon(pork/ sausage) sandwiches which is $5.75 and oh man its so filling you cant have it all at once & also their modest egg sandwich is just $2 & egg & cheese sandwich is $2.75!! The coffee have three sizes, we love it as they make it with milk and sugar !! They were crowded, still they turned out our order very quickly..the bagels tasted so fresh !! All their gourmet bagels & breads are hand rolled & made fresh in the premises. Another interesting thing is they sell different gourmet muffins which we are yet to try and the various flavored cream cheeses are sold in three sized containers, salty and sweet (from jalapeno to strawberry) we have not ventured as yet in that area, would love to experiment more, also they serve varieties of salads, omelettes, specialty sandwiches , wraps & Deli meats & cheese !! This being our new go to breakfast joint, definitely coming back to try everything one by one!! Love it already !!”

“Really good bagels, plush, soft and cooked just right on the inside and shiny and lightly done thin hard shell on the outside. I can’t get good bagels in other states so I bought a couple and enjoyed them and I love the toasted bagel with cream cheese and lettuce tomato and onion. Perfectly done and I enjoyed every bite. This cream cheese bagel only cost me $3 so I can’t beat that. Thank you La Bagel. I would have given 5 stars if the person who made me the bagel wasn’t so gruffly and annoyed looking and was not friendly. He was fast and efficient but not pleasant.”

“Place wasn't busy. Ordered a tuna melt and sweet potato fries. After waiting 20 minutes we had to ask where our food was. Another 10 minutes passed and the plate was dropped on the table. No smile, no reaction, just dropped and slid the plate. The fries were piping hot, the tuna melt was barely warm. We also thought it was odd to have bacon on a tuna melt - the menu did not specify bacon. Since we are vegetarians we peeled it off. This was our first visit. Perhaps it was an "off" day. I would think long and hard about returning which is sad because their mission is very worthwhile.”
