My husband and his uncle came
here for lunch. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my husband ordered a breakfast plate.
atmosphere: cozy, comfortable, and clean. Most tables are good for 4 people but if you have a large group, there is ample space and they can just put tables together to fit large groups. The place is clean and has large windows that add to the good vibe of the place.
Food: served within 20 minutes of ordering. I like my chicken fried steak with its sopapilia. My husband cleaned his plate. We are both satisfied with our food. Although my dish can be made more flavorful.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Monroe’s New Mexican Restaurant! We have eaten in both restaurants, ordered takeout, and had small gatherings catered many times over the years. Every experience has been positive. Recently, we hired them to cater our wedding reception for about 140-180 people at a private venue. We worked with Sarah to plan the menu, calculate quantities of food needed, and plan for the delivery and service at the event. She was very helpful, professional, and responsive to both email and phone messages. Monroe’s catering was fantastic! The staff was super friendly and professional. They set up quickly and quietly, served guests with a smile, packed up leftovers nicely, and cleaned up, leaving the area neat. The food was fantastic and tasty as usual for Monroe’s. The quality of the food and service was exceptional and the prices more than reasonable. We could not have asked for a better catering experience on our special day!
Very impressed! I had the rolled tacos (I knew tham as flautas) and my BFF had a quesadilla. Tons of yummy veggies in his, and I really liked the guac I had for dipping. The salsa was a wee bit much for me, but I'm kind of a spice wuss. Would definitely come back. Waiter was really nice, too.
Came in for lunch while visiting Albuquerque. Stopped in for a late lunch after walking around the plaza. So glad we stopped by, the food was phenomenal, service was quick and staff was friendly. Would definitely stop by again if ever back in Albuquerque. I enjoyed the chips and salsa, others thought it was a bit spicy. We had a variety of food, breakfast, kids menu, burrito and Frito pie, oh and don't forget the sopapillas!
We were driving through Albuquerque and stopped here for lunch. The service was good but our server left half way through our meal and it was a little chaotic after that to get our check and boxes. I got the taco salad with chicken and it had little to no flavor and was very watery. I didn’t like that they made the guacamole spicy.
The other people in my group liked their meals. They got the chicken fajitas and the super combination plate. We also got their sopaipillas and those were good.
