I absolutely love this store! My daughter and I love getting baked goods here. The food is delicious and changes seasonally which I love. They use local ingredients and keep it interesting. It's a great place to get staples as well as gifts. Parking is easy and ample. We can't wait to try the curry spot that have for lunch one day soon!
Sunday July 2, I made the mistake of having my coworker get me a Smash Burger. The reason it was a mistake is because it was so wonderfully delicious I am going to want it more than my budget will allow. You won't regret ordering this burger it is one of the best Albuquerque has to offer. And I could eat a barrel of the wonderful Pickles that came with it.
This was our first visit since they moved and opened up the restaurant. My wife and I both had the burger and it was stellar! I am a connoisseur of Green Chile Cheeseburgers, and this is one of the best, anywhere! The beef is incredible, cooked perfectly to a nice medium and super juicy, topped with a generous helping of good green chile and a fat slab of cheese, finished with grilled onions and homemade pickles, and the bun does it job through and through. What an amazingly well constructed masterpiece! Don't sleep on this burger, it crushes! We'll be back real soon to try other things, bet.
This has been my go-to for local meats, dairy, and produce for the past few months. The employees/counter attendants are always extremely knowledgeable. In addition to how their customer service is at an exemplary level. The owner does a lot to accommodate the needs of customers, as well as going beyond to try and keep up with local supply/demand chains (which is not easy whatsoever). The shop itself is conveniently located. It’s small but very well organized, and feels extremely covid safe. It’s rare for anybody to be there besides myself and an employee. You can even purchase pantry staples like locally milled flour, vinegar, spice mixes, etc. Try the fermented goods. Try the tortillas made by one of the best tortillerías in town. Get those fresh, nutritious bags of rainbow chard, red spinach, carrots, and fresh herbs. Get the oh-so-tender harvest moon potatoes. Get the eggs and pork sausage— you WILL have the best fried eggs, sausage, and potatoes for breakfast. When they carry DeSmet Dairy milk— grab a half gallon. The in-house made dulce de manzana is sooo addicting. By shopping at Tiny Grocer I know I’m in turn supporting local farmers, sustainable agricultural practices, etc. Lastly, make sure to get a coffee or tea latte when you’re there and leave a good tip— you will not regret it!
