Stellar. Cuban influenced cuisine. Fantastic coffee preparations. Seating outdoors in a quiet garden. Seating indoors in comfortable and relaxing spaces adorned with decorative crafts that are for sale. The proprietors are friendly and the host is garrulous.
Coming here is like going over to your nana’s house because you’re welcomed any time and as soon as you see and smell all the goodies (cafecito, pan dulces, aguas, comidas, etc.) you know you’re about to get down on some bomb food and drink! The owners and cocineras are the loveliest and you feel it as soon as you walk through the gate. Gracias por todo, Rincon de Mesilla!
Just ate at the Rincon de Mesilla in the tiny historic town of Mesilla NM. I had the Enchiladas Suissa. I'd never tried any Mexican meal like this in the States. Only during my travels in Mexico have I tasted food with such authentic and fresh flavors. The velvety crema cilantro sauce really elevated the dish. The Mexican rice and refried beans served as the perfect companions to the enchiladas. The rice was a flavorful, fluffy and beautifully seasoned, while the refried beans were just the right amount of comfort food. The meal included a
little side of onions, a seemingly unassuming addition that brought a burst of freshness and the ideal texture to the meal. Each bite was the best blend of flavors and textures-- a true testament to chef Mariana Veleta's attention to detail. The ambiance at Rincon de Mesilla was warm and inviting, with the rustic charm of a Mexican cantina. The staff, attentive and knowledgeable, made us feel like we were their only guests.
I will definitely return to this one of a kind place and bring my friends!
The food was amazing!!! We had the red and green tamales so tasty we couldn’t stop eating them. The owner are so friendly they make you feel at home. I would highly recommend trying this place out. 10 out 10!
Local coffee/gift shop featuring handmade fabrics, glasses, pottery, etc. Has oatmilk and other dairy alternatives and handmade cinnamon rolls! Super nice service as well.
