The Hotel at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino/West El Paso

Beds are fabulous! Room was very clean. Water in the shower wasn't too hot. Casino is still closed. It was virtually empty but if they have the same standards when busy I do recommend it ????

For the price, we couldn't really beat it. Plus, with the casino right there it made for a nice diversion when we weren't out exploring.

There were a few reasons why I didn't give it a higher rating. First, signage... There really wasn't anything after the entrance that let you know which building was the hotel. They really need to get a sign on the side of the building. We drove right past it to the casino at night and had to turn around once we figured it out. Also, there were signs in the elevator talking about restaurants but it wasn't clear they were at the casino, and then when you were at the casino there weren't really any signs pointing to the restaurants.

Second, the shower could have been cleaner. For what appears to be a newer hotel, there was either dirt, or mold on some of the caulking.

Outside of that, the staff was friendly, it was easy to get to once you knew it was the hotel, and the fireplace was a nice touch inside and out as it was rather cold during our stay. Plus, having the casino right next door was nice as well.

Very nice hotel situated right next to the racetrack and casino. The walls are quite thin, so if your neighbor is watching TV late at night, you'll definitely hear it! Staff was very nice, but make sure you book the hotel under the card you want to pay with, because you can't change it at the desk, which I thought was weird. Overall, it was very nice!

New hotel. Good facility. Hotel information says breakfast starts at 6am weekdays. With a shuttle from the hotel to the casino restaurant. For us, Friday 6am, no shuttle available. We drove to the casino - restaurant not open till 7am an hour later. It is a quality stay, but they need to get their ducks in a row about breakfast.

Heads up: due to a wrinkle in New Mexico signage laws, the hotel has NO sign on the front. The casino got all the signage.

Five-star service at a two-star price. Concierge service around the clock from the front desk, who sped up my check-in and made sure I felt at home. At checkout, the manager made contact to ensure my stay was relaxing. Loved the modern furnishings in the room, which was super spacious. Can't beat a giant comfy bed. Didn't have a chance to check out the casino this time, but there's a shuttle for convenience, so I'll be back for the full experience soon!
