Good BBQ and good service. My wife had the hamburger and enjoyed it. I had a two meat plate and my son had the pulled pork sandwich. All good. Particularly loved the sweet bbq-sauce. The french-fries were unique and good stuff. Fried okra was standout.
EXACTLY what you'd expect from a barbecue place! From the traditional barbecue decor to the perfectly smoked meats, to the tasty desserts, you're sure to enjoy every minute and every bite. The French fries are a very interesting cut, crispy on the outside, very tasty. The sweet potato fries are served with syrup, but you likely won't need it. I had the 3 meat dinner and mom had the ribs. Everything was very enjoyable. Our server, Kristin, was very attentive and friendly.
Also, I don't think it's a leap to say that this place serves THE BEST sweet tea in all of Carlsbad.
Highly recommend!
We ordered the loaded fries, Sandwich Special, and pulled pork. The fries are an unusual cut, cooked very well, with cheese and green salsa on top, very tasty.
The brisket sandwich is very moist and flavorful, and the house sauce is tangy, complimenting the expertly smoked brisket. Keep in mind the brisket is chopped, not sliced, but it didn't matter much considering the excellent execution.
Pulled pork was good, too.
Excellent service, very quick and attentive. Above all, the prices were, to my eye, fabulous.
Brisket quesadilla was good with the food being hot. Unfortunately, my wife’s brisket was not too warm. Service was OK, not a lot of attention, but that might be the norm because some people prefer to be bothered less during their meal.
I have 4 stars because the cost was low, otherwise probably 3 1/2.
Nice homey restaurant, very friendly staff. Ordered the rib dinner with beans & potato salad also came with garlic bread. Ribs were good, meat was very tender & flavorful & I liked their sweet BBQ sauce. They also had a vinegar BBQ sauce. The side of beans also were good but I didn't care for the potato salad. I'm not a fan of a mustard/pepper potato salad. Garlic bread also gets a thumbs up. My husband had the brisket dinner which was also very good tender & great flavor. We'll definitely be back.
