Happened to pass by after visiting the Cavern. Prices are reasonable for a sushi restaurant, but although the sushi looked pretty, the taste was so bland. Our server seemed to try his best but could have been friendlier. Not sure if we’ll be back next time.

I had the chicken hibachi and a phoenix roll. My girlfriend had the cowboy roll and deluxe eel roll.

Prices were high but not unreasonable. Our server was attentive and nice, we were greeted with clear onion soup and then he brought out ginger salad immediately after we placed our order. Food took 15-20 minutes to come out, which was impressive because the restaurant was really busy during our visit. I'm particular about my rice and the hibachi chef made the rice correctly, I was able to eat it with chopsticks.

All in all a pleasant experience.

The lunch menu was full sized and delicious. The sushi was very good. Service was excellent, restaurant clean and comfortable. I had the teriyaki beef and it was absolutely delicious. It came with onion soup, the flavor was out of this world. If I lived in Carlsbad I'd make Tokyo a weekly lunch spot.
