Was held over in town on the way across the country and randomly found this place.. immaculate.. AND BBQ!! The brisket was insane and don’t get me started on the bones that literally fell out of the ribs. Showers, bathrooms stocked and attended. Family owned and operated by a fellow Veteran.. no Bs kinda guy but definitely thorough which in my opinion is just fine! Definitely would stay here again.
We had read the reviews so we knew what to expect when checking in. In the time we were in the office, Chris was checking in an elderly couple with us next in line. With his headset on, he answered 3 calls. For each caller he briefly explained he was checking guests in and said he would call them back. He stayed focused on first come first served. He was focused and didn't extend the conversations.
He maintains control of the park so that the guests are safe, I presume. Driving in to the park to look around without asking is frowned upon. If anyone has an issue with it, you need to consider if you would want people driving through your home place unannounced.
We stayed one night. We would stay again. The grounds were clean with a desert setting (gravel, no grass). The bathrooms had a vintage look...clean for the age of the facility.
How many campgrounds have a restaurant on site that delivers to your rig? We've had their ribs before, which are very good. This time we also added onion rings and deep fried mushrooms - excellent. Used the showers. They are older, but very clean.
Chris was very accommodating. We had a spot close to the dog park, the showers and bathrooms. He was even available for good conversation and change for the laundry. He was very shorthanded in the kitchen and still managed to provide a good meal for dinner. I would stay here again and also recommend it to other travelers. Also very quiet off the highway. Thank you, Chris.
Park was comfortable, I arrived after dark and it was easy to navigate, there were enough lights. It was quiet and I had a good rest, saw horses pasturing over the fence in the morning, overall it was peaceful setting (winter time, might be busy in summer) and felt safe. Park is set back from the street and at distance from highway too, seem to be fenced around with some natural settings outside the boundaries. A few small cedar trees in the park created ambiance, bathrooms were nice too. There were other kinds of trees too which I guess create some shade in summer, but nothing to create problems for tall motorhome roof except in a couple of spots one should watch out for (I'd suggest trimming a bit at the start of the rightmost drive)
