Golden Star Restaurant

So, the other place in town is never open. We decided to give this a try instead. Looks like it might be renovating, but the food hot and wow, so generous. The service was fast , she was hard to understand, but very nice. We will stop about once a week on our trips to and from. Thanks for the great food!

I'm sorry to say their quality of food has gone down. I use to like their food much better than the others Chinese restaurant in town. My visit this time was a disappointment, the crab Rangoon where very greasy and way over cook, the sweet and sour sauce had been watered down (a little better than the consistency of water) which cut the flavor also. There noodles have not changed and where good as well as bbq chicken. The honey shrimp may have been cooked then refrigerated and then put in the warming tray, I can't say but unfortunately it was not up to their previous standards.
I wish them well and hope they will return to the quality of food they where known for by their loyal customer's.

The flavors here are good, remind me of the old school downtown LA Chinese spots. Definitely good portions at a decent price. The chicken was a bit harder then I like so might not order that again, but since I drive through Deming 3 times a week, I’m sure I’ll be back for more.
