Teresa's Tamales

Randomly stopped here on my way to Las Vegas, New Mexico. Delicious tamales, large portions, good value, friendly helpful staff, casual environment . On our way out we asked another customer which way to Las Vegas. Assumed he was a local. Fellow customer had no idea about directions. He was from Albuquerque, and regularly drives the 2 hours to enjoy the food at Theresa’s Tamale. He was also taking an extra dinner home to enjoy at a later time.

The papitas were perfectly fried and tasted fresh and clean. The tamales were the true handmade artisan class food that we were all brought up with. The milder spice level means even the kids can enjoy tamales without fear. Need to bump up the heat? Cover them with a hotter chili.

Enjoying a long weekend getaway in New Mexico with my husband and we stopped at this restaurant and enjoyed a rather delicious Tamale, Chili Relleno and Smothered Burrito for lunch! We both Highly recommend this place for its yummy food along with great customer service! Amanda is a talented cook & baker and it absolutely showed with the continual traffic we witnessed during our lunch!

It is a must on your bucket list when in the area!

I will confess, I'm a tamale hound - so I had to pull over as I went by. Unfortunately, they were out of tamales BUT I had a killer burrito and my wife had tacos. The burrito was AWESOME, delicious and filled me to the gills. Oh yeah, great price for a great meal. Don't miss this place!!

Legendary tamales! Teresa's is the destination that the locals frequent. It's a hole in the wall that offers a short menu of pure New Mexico goodness! Her tamales are made by hand, fresh daily, so be advised, they usually sell out by 12 noon.
