The Chile Pod

We stopped here on a road trip from Oklahoma to Utah. We always look for local, non-chain restaurants to try, and this was the most unexpected and delicious gem! I ordered the award winning red chili mac with a side of carne adovada. Lemme tell ya…I’m usually not a big fan of red chili because it is so prominent on the chili powder, but this stuff was truly the best I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the green chili mac n cheese which was also amazing, but the star of his meal was the shrimp taco. We’ve had shrimp tacos all over the country and this was hands down the best shrimp taco we have ever had. My husband wants to drive back thru on Saturday so he can order three of them. Our son had the carnitas chimichanga which he said was delicious - but tbh, the rice and beans were below average in flavor. But - the rest of the meal was so good I can hardly complain about beans and rice. If you’re anywhere in the vicinity, you have to stop and try this place. The service was also outstanding. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Stopped by here on the way back to Albuquerque. The menu options are awesome food was next level. Great open space with friendly staff. As a cilantro hater - this place is not cilantro heavy.

Arrived about 820, they close at 9. First visit here and I’m coming back. Next time I’ll outside to eat. Seated quickly and served quickly too.

The food was delicious and plated nicely. Atmosphere was busy and people seemed to enjoy the place. The chili relleno was nice and spicy along with the cheesy enchilada. Red sauce was awesome!

We stopped here while traveling. This is a really fun place with a friendly staff. I had the fish tacos with rice and beans They serve a more authentic Mexican cuisine. It was excellent...a little spicier than what I am used to, but delicious!
