Excellent spot for New Mexican cuisine in a friendly, family run cafe. I visited here a few years ago and was excited to get back this morning to enjoy their veggie breakfast burrito again. A lot of other families enjoying their breakfast and everyone was having a great time. Highly recommended when in Santa Fe!
If you need a place to eat in the plaza (especially on Sundays when other restaurants are closed), this is a good option. Their service is a bit slow, but if you’re not in a hurry, you’ll get some good food after your wait. We had the Enchilada plate (chicken), Steak tacos, Chicken salad, and Tamales. Everything was great and we even had some Mexican Cokes with it too.
Excellent food and service, with a small private courtyard giving you a meal bathed in comfortable Santa Fe sun. Save room for the flan for a tasty dessert to finish off a memorable meal!
First time eating here but we'll definitely come back. Tons of flavor in the enchiladas and the salads had a unique and delicious flavor.
In the mood for a hella delicious, hearty New Mexican breakfast right outside of beautiful downtown Sante Fe? Look no further, because I am convinced you won't find any close to as fantastic as Palacio Café. My God, it's one of those places you look back on and can remember how wonderful the entire meal was by the second.
I started my meal with a mocha ($3.99). It came fast and steaming hot! It was the perfect balance of expresso and chocolately heaven. The real deal though was the Smothered Breakfast Burrito (two eggs, potatoes, cheddar cheese bacon or sausage [I got bacon], rolled in a large flour tortilla and topped with red or green chile sauce, $9.75). I couldn't decide on red or green so I chose Christmas. This baby came out piping hot, and I could smell it as the server was bring it to me. It was absolutely incredible. The thing was so stuffed with the fillings. There was a generous amount of bacon and the red and green chile sauces were a great contrast. I would 100% recommend ordering the Christmas style. The red sauce added a lot of spice while the green was milder but more flavorful. Overall, it was so effing good! I can't express how much I feel in love with this restaurant and if it wasn't my last day in Sante Fe I would have come back every morning.
You really gotta check this place out. Based off the reviews about their lunches and dinners I've definitely made it a personal mission to return to Palacio Café next sting in this city.
