This restaurant is the best in Albany out of all Indian restaurants. It was a small one before but after renovation it has become a very spacious and well decorated one.
Best Indian food in the capital district! For the many times I have dined here, I tried out a variety of dishes. I think it is quite fair to draw the conclusion, in terms of the consistency and the taste.
Karavali is also very authentic, according to my Indian friends. One thing about Indian food is that it consists of many spices in each dish, though it shouldn't overwhelm you with the spices. You will still taste the spices, but ultimately the spices are in a the right balance and combination to enhance the favor of the meats. They really try to put emphasis on making the harmonizations between the meat and the sauce as one entity.
I was pretty impressed by the lunch buffet and the service. A few quick points though: (1) Tandoori chicken was dry (2) baby corn cooked in red sauce had too many flavours (3) Chicken Tikka masala is probably the best in the region (4) The temperature and sweetness of rice pudding was perfect
Overall: A good lunch buffet for a reasonable price. Lots of variety in the buffet menu with Curry's based on different cooking styles.
We went with the family in hopes to find delicious Indian cuisine, which we have been looking for years. This place was no disappointment. The food and service was delicious. We will be back and recommend
1. Best Indian food in the capital, it's on part with Indian food you could get in the NJ mecca of Indian food
2. This was perfect for couples, we could get 4 different dishes and all 4 were unique and were expertly cooked.
This restaurant seems to have been recently redone and for the better. It was already good but now it's excellent.
