Family atmosphere with good family style portions.
ACTUAL authentic chinese food. Check the picture I attached of their traditional menu. They have a dish with jelly fish! Who even knew that was a thing!?
Don't worry, they have the Americanized classics we have all come to know and love too. But even those are done in a higher quality way that separates it from your average Chinese place. Just take the egg rolls in the combo platters as a quick example. They have less cabbage filler and more meat and they do beef and shrimp instead of pork.
Everything is super fresh. I watched them start cutting up snow peas that got delivered right in front of me. And they give you a fresh orange after the meal with your fortune cookie. It is just this little old couple. The husband cooks and the wife handles the business from what I could tell.
Only downsides are it is a little more expensive than your average Chinese place and service is slow since it is just the two of them. But both of those are necessary sacrifices for a genuine and high quality operation.
I am not sure if they have anyone for succession after their time comes, so eat there while you can.
My favorite place in Binghamton area. Someone might say that the service is way under than the food. Well, I'd never been uncomfortable when I was there. Actually I always felt the owners were welcoming me. Food is fantastic. Having a food in this restaurant is actually my very first time to experience authentic Chinese food. All foods are good. I still remember how the tofu dishes, pecking duck, fish with soy bean sauce, and vegetables!!! I want to visit there again in the near future
Excellent food. Service can be incredible under the right circumstances, i.e. the place is not super busy. Kim, one of the owners loves to feed toddlers, with parental permission. Be sure to order off the special menu.
Excellent home made Chinese food. Mom & Pop restaurant. Mom is the waitress & Pop the cook. Everything made to order - super fresh. Wait time is a little more than most Chinese restaurants, but once you taste the food you won't care. Fresh oranges after every meal. Delicious. I've eaten there dozens of times and taken a host of friends there. Everyone Loves the Food !!!
